Title: Strengthening the Framework for Production and Marketing of Organic Agricultural Products  in Northern Vietnam

The overall objective of Strengthening the Framework for Production and Marketing of Organic Agricultural Products in Northern Vietnam is about improving food security for both producers and consumers. The primary target group is ethnic minorities and focus is on poor household and farmer groups. One of many advantages that organic farming will provide to the poor farmers is reduced health risks because of the safer non-toxic production methods. Farmers will receive training in organic cultivation, but also marketing of the products. This can ensure a more stable income from agriculture. Producers and consumers will experience a greater variety of healthy and safe food and reduce the risk of illness from consuming unsafe food.

Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA) is the partner organisation. VOAA is an umbrella organisation for the organic community in Vietnam and members comprise a pool of individual experts, consumers, producers and corporate entities. VOAA is a member of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
